Srinagar, Nov 29 :A fire incident was reported from JVC SKIMS Bemina early Saturday morning, triggering a swift response from the Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES). According to officials, the call was received at the State Headquarters at 6:10 am, following which fire tenders were immediately dispatched at 6:11 am from the First Fire Station JVC. Reinforcement teams from the F&ES Headquarters and Rawalpora Fire Station were also rushed to the spot.
Officials told Rising Kashmir that the blaze broke out in the early hours, damaging five rooms, including faculty rooms, the Orthopaedics office, the Ophthalmology office, and several adjoining office sections.
Keeping patient safety as top priority, the operation was led by Deputy Director F&ES Dr Mir Aqib Hussain , Mobilizing Officer Aijaz Ahmad Shah, DFO City Mohammad Ayoub, and DFO Headquarters Muzaffar Hussain.
Confirming the incident, Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services, Dr. Mir Aqib Hussain, said that the firefighters managed to bring the flames under control within 25–30 minutes, preventing further spread. “The cooling process is currently underway,” he added.
